About THEBLUEGARAGE

Ideas need someone to roll up their sleeves.

A new product. A better service. A change that needs to happen. I help organisations connect the strategy, technology and people it takes to make it real.

Gerben Klop

I’m Gerben Klop, founder of THEBLUEGARAGE. I help organisations turn ideas into concrete products, services and change — by connecting digital strategy, technology and the people who make it happen.

My 25+ years of experience run from application development and international programmes to entrepreneurship and corporate innovation, including work at Tessa/Unilever, Startupbootcamp and Nationale-Nederlanden. Different settings, with a familiar question: what will it take to get this moving?

That is where I like to work. Bringing direction to complex questions. Making choices together with a team. Then staying involved in the execution, where assumptions meet everyday reality and good intentions have to earn their keep.

I also keep a project on my own workbench. With WattsManaged, I’m developing an application for smart energy monitoring and device control. Building it myself keeps me close to the decisions, experiments and practical details I help other teams navigate.

Four beliefs behind every engagement.

  1. 01

    Execution creates value.

An idea matters when a capable team can turn it into a credible outcome.

  2. 02

    Evidence changes the conversation.

Clear assumptions and tests replace opinion with learning that leaders can act on.

  3. 03

    Teams need useful difference.

Strong composition is not sameness; it is complementary capability with explicit ways of working.

  4. 04

    Outside-in breaks blind spots.

A trusted external perspective helps teams see the patterns they have become too close to notice.

Bring the challenge. We will find the useful question.

You do not need a polished brief to begin.
